1982 - December 28, 2017 Religious Congregation of Diocesan Right |
The religious family of the Missionaries of Faith began through the intuition - inspiration of Miss. Anna Maria Andreani. From her youth, she resolved to a consecrated life, which she realized in making the profession of vows of chastity and obedience in 1964 as a secular Carmelite tertiary with the name of Magdalene of the Divine Martyr.
Following her appalling encounters with some priests in crisis, something urged her to help priests in difficulty. The initial inspiration went realized in a small sacerdotal community whose intense life in religious consecration were set up to help priests in crisis with a lifestyle of deep faith and fraternal reception. The name “Missionaries of Faith” expresses the nascent charisma and the peculiar spirituality that rapidly opened to a wider horizon, either geographically or in the field of pastoral duties.
After the preceding years (1972 - 1980) in which various bishops decreed its erection to Pious Union, the initial inspiration found the nod of the Holy See (Decree of October 7, 1982).
On December 25, 1982, the late Joseph Card. SIRI erected the Pious Union Missionaries of Faith to Religious Congregation. Anna Maria Andreani, then God’s instrument was sided by Fr. Luigi Duilio Graziotti, a Dehonian Father.
On December 28, 2022 we celebrated 40 years in the service of the Church.
